Aha!
Just over 1,223.75 Ly from the carrier, and 13,744.94 Ly from our home back in 59V, we found our first undiscovered earth like world! Not only the first of the entire trip, but the first of my entire career! Everyone back home is going to love this. Another habitable planet for us to eventually make our way towards. It's no ringed ELW like the one back in 59V, but it'll do.
I know we are extremely far from the nearest civilization, but that doesn't matter. The fact that there are still places out here in the black, that can sustain humanity, is an incredible thing. I wonder what kind of life already exists down there. We are not to interfere with any existing life on the planet, so we'll have to remain in orbit and take samples using probes. Good thing the holds aren't too full, we will be bringing lots back to the carrier with us. The ELW is coming in at only 0.4 Earth masses according to scanners with 0.77 G's of gravity. This could to be fun if humanity ever shows us. I wonder what ti does for those already down there. How different life is from ours. As imilar orbital period tot hat of earth, slightly less but who's counting. 317.5 days to be exact.
52 Bodies total in this system. Of them, 2 terraformable HMCs, 2 water worlds, and this beautiful ELW. A quinary star system with three M-types, one K-type, and one F-type star. such a massive system, no wonder so many bodies were formed or pulled here. All this excitement onboard has the crew giddy. After our scans and samples of these important bodies, I think we will settle down in orbit of the ELW for celebrations tonight.
As for tomorrow and the future, I'm feeling the pull of giving mining another shot. Maybe I'll take a look at our star charts and see how feasible it would be to take our Mining Python out for a good run. Or, do we keep pushing, further into the unknown. Who knows what else lies out there? Maybe we start searching for biological signals on some planets...
I'll sleep on it, for now, we celebrate!
