Entry 002

26 Dec 2020EpicAce
Used a bit of savings to purchase some medium combat ships for those times I run between outposts. Having only 4 landing pads on those things makes it annoying when I come all the way only to find the station completely full, but the lack of people can be nice.

Almost ran out of mats engineering the new ships, but no expense spared for your life, right? Here's hoping skimping on the armor in favor of jump range won't bite me in the ass.

Ever since I started writing in the journal, it looks like I've been unconsciously interacting with more people though. It's not nearly as bad as I make it seem sometimes, but that could do with the fact that I can choose what kinds of people to interact with. This past week I've helped out more than a few fellow pilots out of their own jams, as well as helping some others with their to-do list. It keeps me from thinking about how I procrastinate on my own to-do list.

Frankly, I prefer to not think too deeply as to how I loot the husks of dead ships, never finding any ejection systems among them. I don't know if it's because they've already been rescued and the one responsible didn't feel it necessary to loot the ship of its valuable components or other, more sinister purposes.

Just another reason to keep hunting criminals, I suppose. I might have to push back my own self-imposed deadline to make an anti-xeno dedicated combat ship.

In the meanwhile, maybe I'll try this whole socializing thing out. Frankly, anything's better than when I was a planet-dweller. Those were some dark days.
