What's Yours Is Mined [10.23.3302]

Do these hardware, science hungry, physicists and engineers not have stockpiles of necessary modification components on hand to manipulate ship modules? I swear some times they send you on a wild goose chase just to watch you squirm, trial by fire style, except I guess it's more like trial by waiting.I suppose it isn't entirely fair to berate them; some of these experts need unique and hard to come by components, even if they had some, why should they share it with the next hotshot from the Pilot's Federation that caught wind of their base? Probably why they're so closed off to begin with, hell I'd build my own base and tell the stragglers that find the place to fly the fuck too if I didn't enjoy it out in the black so much. Maybe one day, we'll tack it on to my retirement plan.
Right now I'm watching the mining beams stretch out a kilometre in front of Clio's nose. Verity is monitoring the lasers and limpet prospecting and collection programs, while I'll type away. Was never more pleased to have her installed than having to execute such a mundane task, floating somewhere in the middle of Delkar 7's inner ring, zapping rocks. A reliable source told me there was Painite out here; he were right. Which is good, because engineering and prospecting aficionado Selene Jean just so happens to be looking for some: thought it might be a good way to get in her good graces. It's a good thing I'm not hurting for credits either, this stuff goes for a pretty penny, even in Delkar a ton of the stuff clears 40K.
Beyond that it's pretty quiet out here; so far from a RES that no pirates know where we are. Apart from the SAVs that hopped in behind us to do a quick scan, there's been no signs of anyone, which is nice. These big Jovian's are immensely pretty, getting to witness their beauty from so close without the background of idle gunfire and scumbag pirates is... refreshing, at least in the bubble. Makes me want to go on another trip, maybe this time to the Crab Nebula.
Anyway, Verity is trying to tell me something, and it looks like the ship is running low on limpets. Time to head back to
De Kamp Orbital and then to Selene's place in Kuk. Hopefully we've gathered enough to make an impression. Fingers crossed.
