Commander's Log:

o7

Every time the GalVik-INNHERRED rips open a portal to Witch-space, I am reminded of the immense power we wield—a force that transcends the boundaries of ordinary space. The fleet carrier, a titan in its own right, boasts dimensions that command respect—its sheer size, 3200 meters in length and 729 meters in width, conceals a magnitude of potential within.

As I stand on the Command Deck, overseeing the orchestration of our jump, the carrier's prowess is laid bare. A symphony of sounds accompanies the spectacle—the ship-wide alarm blaring like celestial trumpets, resonating through the hull. The piercing lightning strikes dance across the bow, a tempest of energy channeled and embraced by the mighty Drake-Class Carrier.

The visceral experience of the jump resonates within the carrier's corridors, a testament to the mastery of Brewer Corporation's engineering. The awe of technology and the powers harnessed by it manifest in every jump, every tear in the fabric of space we create.

Beyond the technical marvel lies the opportunity—an open gateway to distant stars, uncharted territories, and untold wonders. As we navigate Witch-space, I can't help but feel the weight of responsibility that comes with this celestial mastery. The fate of the crew, the success of our missions, and the destiny of our journey rest in the hands of the GalVik-INNHERRED.

Yet, even as a seasoned commander, the experience of hyperjumping never ceases to amaze me. The ethereal glow of Witch-space and the strange, almost spooky sensation it exudes are reminders of the mysteries that linger beyond the fabric of our reality. It's a feeling that transcends both awe and trepidation, a dance with the unknown that fuels the spirit of exploration.

On another note:

We have received a single reply to my hails directed at the now confirmed derelict fleet carrier. The distress call confirmed their need for Tritium to fuel their journey. I'm guessing they are headed back towards civilization. Still, the coordinates shared in the reply, signed by Commander [Redacted], reveal a destination fourteen thousand light-years deeper into the galactic depths than the Carrier's current location.

It seems likely that the Commander who owns the stranded carrier has embarked on some undisclosed quest or mission. Given the carriers' self-sufficiency, save for the need for refueling, they can endure extended periods in deep space.

In response, I've significantly accelerated our own pace. The sooner we complete the necessary refueling, the quicker we can shift our focus to our primary goals—gathering extensive data through system scans, planetary exploration, and in-depth exobiology studies of selected planets. Our journey holds the promise of unveiling untold wonders as we delve into the mysteries of the cosmos.
