31 July 3301 --- Recollection

Well, I've been at the game for some time, though I never thought to have a journal like this. Seems somewhat archaic to write down my thoughts and progress, but maybe it'll get me somewhere. A friend of mine thought it would be good to do this.Suppose it won't hurt...
Well, I started it all with a Sidewinder, like every other pilot in this cold galaxy. Worked my way up as one of my friends had jump started me with some rare cargo to sell. Told me to get out of the deathtrap I was piloting and get a better engine. Picked up an Eagle. Used it to take down some pirates and get myself a better ship. After staying in Federation space for a bit, I got myself a Viper. The one ship that I'd be using for a loooong time. Named her Sweet Cheeks. Racked up many kills for me, and brought me a hefty income to boot.
I eventually I decided I had enough of Federation space and traveled my way down to Aisling space, where I'd align to the Empire. The trip there wasn't..... too bad... I ran out of fuel midway and my buddy had to jump to the nearest station to buy a Fuel Limpet Controller. A bit scary, but I was alright in the end. Made it to Cubeo unscathed... fortunately. Settled base there, but as soon as I did, I realized that there was nothing in the bounty boards except for money donations and food requests among the minor governments.
A bit of a let down for a guy looking for coin.
Welp, I looked elsewhere and did missions here and there to get some more money in my pocket. Got myself an Adder, named it Chug by the way, and souped it up for mining. Thought it might be a fun experience.
Boy was I wrong.
It was slow and I barely got anything with the limited class compartments this ship had. Eventually sold all that junk and let mining to the professionals..... at least until I get a better ship, if I do. Fixed it up for trading instead and did a few missions to make some money. It was slow at first, but I got some pay for it.
Later on, I stumbled upon a system nearby Cubeo that a friend mentioned to me about. Fire Fade. The place that would spike my income so much. Traveled there in Sweet Cheeks and found the combat zones he mentioned. Once fueled up and armed, I set thrusters to max and went in.
I can't believe I lived for so long.
I fought for so long even after my multi cannons were out of ammo. I just kept firing with my pulse lasers, taking down shields and busting their hull. Returned with a 1 million credit combat bond. I decided to head back in after some downtime. I was a bit ecstatic that I got all that money that I decided to do that again. Elden Frost told me I was a crazy bastard, but I went back in. I spent much longer in it than what I realized. Once again, I was out of ammo, simply blasting with my pulse lasers and going on and on and on. I didn't believe I'd come back with so much more.
With newfound cash, I sold my Adder and bought a Type-6, dubbed Brick, for obvious reasons. Some time later, a station in Carns was looking for robotics donations. I found another nearby system to grab them from and started making trade routes back and forth, making a good credit pile for me. I figured that I'd make Chona my new base, as it was a high-tech system, making outfitting that much easier for me. Still in Aisling space, still in good hands for me.
A long time later and Carns was able to reform into a high-tech system, along with a gratuity check of 1.5 million with my name on it. With more money flowing my way, I decided to grab another ship. With a lot of sadness in my heart, I had to let go of Sweet Cheeks. She served me well. Damn well. July 14, 3301, I traded her in for a Courier. Signed the papers and all as they lifted my baby away, only to pull out a new Courier in her old place. Sometimes I wonder if I should grab a Viper for good times sake.
I even remember how she pulled through for me in my trip to Achenar and back. I got a tip that they had Couriers at discounts there, and so I set off with Sweet Cheeks all the way. I realized that it'd be a bit of a trip, and was able to make it safely. Unfortunately I checked each station with shipyards. No Couriers in sight. Not even in the Imperial capital system. It was a shock, but I had to head back to Chona. I knew they had full price Couriers, and decided to just buy it there. I realized I'd be scraping by with the amount of fuel I had, and pushed from system to system. I was a bit scared I'd be stranded, but Sweet Cheeks pulled through.
A while later, I went for some normal combat as usual after outfitting Valiance, my Courier. I heard that Carns has some pirate problem over in their extraction sites, so I went to pay a visit. It was a bit easy, considering lasers aren't blasting around you all the time. I just kept fighting those pirates in there for hours upon hours, being able to get a lot more money for myself. I just kept getting more and more and more.
A Diamondback Explorer was next on the list. Buggy was its name and boy was it a while to outfit with all its expensive parts. I left out around the 23rd of July and didn't come back until the 24th. Was lucky enough to find a few systems and scan them first before anyone else. But I came back so early because I got anxious. It was just a lot of flying and looking and scanning. Not a lot of action. Trading is a bit more active, even. Buggy's sitting in the bay until I decide to get some action from her again.
Another purchase sometime later and a new Vulture is sitting within my fleet of ships. Pirouette is its name and she's a beaut. Not fully upgraded yet, as my Valiance is riding me to some great profits. I don't plan on selling Valiance. Ever. She's been extremely good to me as Sweet Cheeks has. I don't think I should make the same mistake again. I will say though. Profits have been a bit scarce ever since then, and with me having bounties over in Zhao and Carns for a bit of accidents on my part, I can't make any profits either. Good ones at least. Might help to scout other systems to find something to rake in some creds. But for now, I can coast easy with the credits I've got on hand. I'm not scrapping by for food anytime soon.
Phew...
A lot of writing on my part, but I might as well know where and how I started. Maybe it'll help in the future, but for now, some rest.
