Log#1:Troubles ahead

Log date and time: July 31 3301, hour is 07:46*Sigh* Troubles seem to be ahead of me as I attempted to find a better drive for Radiant, nothing much came about from my luck after going through at least 3 or 4 different stations. I finally settled on a good but not particularly the frame shift drive I was seeking. I outfit my new beaut but the higher end systems are pricey and difficult to come by so it was a sink for my pocket at the very least. I transported a few imperial slaves to Namor to try and get myself back on track since transporting them gave a decent profit. I looked into the eyes of each person as they were treated like cattle and forced into the cargo hold of my ship. I feel slight pangs of guilt as each person passed me with either low amounts of hope, shame, or just disgrace in their eyes but I believe in this system, I hope they can lift themselves out of their debts and worries in the long run. Aisling Duval claims to be trying to put a stop to all of this and I would be happy to see it come to that... but I don't see that coming anytime soon. I'm just trying to survive here... After making the trip back to Apurui I stumbled upon heavy conflict zones and took my shot at combat... It did not go well at all... I came upon two anacondas that simply turned and had their way with me in the violent kind of manner. I had to eject to get myself the hell out of there. After much insurance paperwork and signing off on the little things AND ALL THE BLOODY FEES THEY GIVE!!! I got my baby back... a brand new Star ready to handle anything. My wingmate Jason wanted to give me a hand and tackle the conflict zones and so we went in hard and it proved to work out fairly well for the 2 of us.. Strangely enough I seemed to be getting focused a lot more often by whoever we were fighting having my ship's shields drop a few times. I stuck around a little too long so I couldn't get my hands on any of those combat contracts but hey I escaped with the hair on my hair. I'd take those odds any day, but all in all I'm probably going to be sticking to trading for my fair share.
I hear there's a plague that needs combating... I might look into that... of course from a distance but hey, don't need that coming to me.
Elden Frost, signing out.
