There and back again

18 Aug 2019Tharrn
The Colonia Emergency Response Force has been successfully established at Dove Enigma. With considerable effort the number of outbreaks could be reduced to less than half the number observed before we (well, technicall  'I') set up shop in Colonia. There is one particularly virulent strain though, that will not only require thorough research, but warrants that precautionary measures are taken: Currently Colonia has a medical installation but no medical cruiser to assist in emergency situations.

I have returned to Shinrarta Dezhra to negotiate the transfer of a medical cruiser of the Pilot's Federation to Colonia. There was a lot of paperwork to do and it can't have gone too badly, as I was invited to an interview at Jameson Memorial. They promised to get back to us, but also pointed out that it might take some time. We'll see how that goes - I hope it is not a case of 'don't call us, we will call you'.

As I was back in the bubble I took the opportunity to prepare a Corvette to return with it to Colonia. Looking at my stock of materials to finally get a combat worthy ship fully engineered, I realized that neither would my supplies do, nor did I have all the necessary contacts to get all the parts improved. But you know how it goes... someone knows the brother of that station official, who has a friend that used to work for that wrench jockey you need. Took me one day to find all the engineers I need and I was also invited to talk to all of the top notch engineers in Colonia.

Getting the parts was another thing. First of all I made a list and scraping together all the stuff I meticulously gathered over the past years it was mostly the more valuable parts and things you cannot find in Colonia that were missing. One of my contacts had told me to go find one of the many deserted mining outposts, where they often leave crates full of parts behind. And indeed: I did strike gold and within hours I had all the parts but imperial shielding, which I was lucky enough to find in Achenar within minutes.

The rest is history as they say. The Deliverance is engineered but for some parts like the shield boosters, which I'll have Mel Brandon do once I arrive in Colonia.

So... this morning I made a final stop in Tabwa, on the edge of the bubble to pick up supplies and store an Imperial Eagle and Clipper for a later transfer to Colonia.

As for the route: I have decided to use the outposts along the way and to pay the abandoned bases in the Confluxx a visit. That nagging feeling that we haven't dug to the bottom of the mystery surrounding the Dynasty expeditions persists through the years. Can't hurt to have another look. The Deliverance is ready to go and so am I. Colonia, here I come again (must be around the 10th time).

Do you like it?
