16/07/3303 - Shakedown cruise concludes for Demigryph

After some rigorous testing the shakedown of my Federal Gunship Demigryph has finally concluded. Its performance is up to standard due to extensive engineering. To start off with, I did a complete overhaul of the internal systems. Elvira Martuuk succesfully augmented the woeful jumprange to a more respectable 17ly. Sensors have also been boosted to an effective range of 12km. And after a visit to Selene Jean all of my hull has been fitted with heavy duty armour. The offensive capabilities have also been tested in a series of combat trails. I opted to fit all the small and medium hardpoints with turreted multi-cannons. Put together they pour out a frightening amount of lead in any direction. Added to that, all of the multi-cannons have thermal shock munition. This ensures that hot running ships with loads of lasers will have a harder time against Demigryph. The trails with CMDR Heideric showed that even a passive target will heat up to about 80%. On top of all the multi-cannons I opted to go for gimballed beam laser for my final and only large hardpoint.

Almost compulsory I also fitted the ship with a dual fighter hangar. Both fighter slots are occupied by the Federal F63 Condor. I chose both the Aegis and Gelid variants to give me the best flexibility.
In closing I'm satisfied with the outcome. As a warship, Demigryph will be the mainstay in my fleet of ships. It will also replace Warhammer as my main combat ship. As for Warhammer? I will keep still keep him. It has been my trusty warhorse for such a long time and it has proven dependable on many occasions.
