Commander's Log - April 24, 3307I've made it to the Formidine Rift Settlements. It is extremely creepy out here. Visiting Alpha and Beta sites weren't so bad, but at Gamma I came across a Krait Phantom, Diamondback Scout, and Viper MkIV all just circling the settlement. No communication, no change of behavior as I approached. They just circled. I carefully set down and set out in my SRV to investigate the site and the eventually took up a stationary position about 1 km outside the settlement and about 500m above the ground. I'm thinking whatever caused these settlements to be abandoned has taken hold of these pilots. I eventually left the Gamma Site and went to Delta Site. At Delta Site I came across more pilots. At least it was daylight at Delta site. There were four sidewinders, an Asp Explorer, and a Vulture. They were all circling the site the same as the others at Gamma site. This time I was a bit more bold in my approach and investigation of the site. There was no communication, just more circling. Eventually they started to High Wake out of the system one by one. Sensing that they were possibly fleeing something I was unable to see, I too hastened my SRV back to Serenity and took off. My next goal will be visiting the Zurara in the Formidine Rift. I have traveled the Inner Orion Spur, The Sanguineous Rim, The Elysian Shore, and now onto the Formidine Rift. I am nervous, but others have made the trip fine. I don't believe in ghosts, but I guess I'll find out if there is any truth to the old spacers tales about the deep void.
