My Journey So Far #1

Phew, what a ride this galaxy has been so far! After parking the Razorback at a friend's, I set out with what little credits I had left to me.

It was hard going at first, flying that triangular rust bucket of a Sidewinder for little credits, scraping together what living I could with simple transport & delivery jobs. It took much longer than I thought to save enough to buy my first meaningful ship: a DiamondBack Scout. My dream of flying amongst the stars was finally happening!

I traveled here & there, mostly driven by reports of interesting star systems around me. Once, I heard reports about Alien life forms at Witchhead Nebula and that fascinated me so much that I took the Scout all the way out there and went looking for what other pilots had called "the Thargoid". It didn't take me too long to come across an odd signal source out at Witchhead. And WOW! those things look scary! I was so excited to have found them - but once I got a good look at those flying, living organic space ships, I charged up my FSD and got out of this area of space as fast as possible.

Back in familiar space, I sold a good chuck of Exploration Data from my long trip. It yielded some nice credits, but not nearly as much as I had hoped. Frustrated with what felt like a neverending dry-spell of credits, I hung out at a local watering hole, where I got to talking to some folks who told me about their deep space mining efforts. I always assumed Mining to be a backbreaking, frustrating job, but after having had some violent encounters with Pirates on my journey who tried to blow my ship out of the skies just for having nothing worth stealing in its hold, I was under no illusions that my current way of working was any safer.

I changed some of the tooling on my Scout so that I could try Mining. And man! Even with my limited cargo space, that Mining yielded some serious credits. I became obsessed. Not long after, I had enough saved up to upgrade to an ASPX and equip it with some proper gear. This was the break I had been looking for! With the help of some friends, I found some sweet Mining spots and with time, I learned exactly which asteroids to go looking for that yielded great loads of Painite or LTDs.
