Teveri Examiner - December 14, 3302Teveri Temporarily Reroutes Flights
Wiley Port, Teveri -- Several Teverian passenger services have rerouted their flights away from Hydrae Sector NS-U c2-9, where hostilities have escalated to all-out war between HIP 72235 Coalition Forces and the Progressive Party of Chac Cimih. Teveri Progressive Party, Teveri Co, and Teveri Partners have all changed their jump paths to avoid HS NS-U c2-9.
Teveri Co spokesman, Eric Guardot said the company had detected a "potential threat" on December 13 which led to the decision.
Meanwhile, the Jath Hyperspace Authority (JHA) has barred carriers from flying within 200 Ls of Ziemkiewicz Terminal, considered the flashpoint of hostilities.
There is concern that militants on both sides of the conflict might interdict and engage civilian craft. But the PPCC government has said that its orbital space and spaceport are safe.
"Ziemkiewicz Terminal is highly secure," said Hassan Nadir, Sector Minister of Defense for the PPCC. "There is no threat to ships passing over the skies of c2-9 A-3."
Over the past week, multiple raids were carried out against settlements in sector HIP 72235, although no group has claimed responsibility. The primary target of those attacks, HIP 72235 Crimson Brotherhood, has accused pro-PPCC rebels of committing the acts of violence. PPCC representatives have vehemently denied their role in the attacks, but long-strained relations and the accidental destruction of a HIP 72235 Silver United Org civilian transport over Ziemkiewicz Terminal have resulted in all-out war.
The tragedy has increased public scrutiny of civilian ships flying near sector warzones.
