2 years later... in the black

It's been 2 years... and now I'm deep in the black exploring new worlds and new life forms that no man has seen before. My ship barely has any weapons or defenses at all and its only real protection is that I rarely see a system that a fellow human has ever visited before let alone worry about running into another human out here. So far the most active life forms have been grasses that sway in the atmospheric breezes and bacteria growing across desolate sands.
When I return in a few months, this should give me enough exploration data and bio scans to fund the carrier for a long time... but the real rewards are all the new places and wonders seen, but the costs are the isolation and time away from civilization
