Actually, it feels good to get ME out of my head...

Dear Diary (I'm going to have to give you a name),

Location: Norma Arm

It's weird, but talking to you is somehow better than talking to ME, by externalising my inner voice (well, one of 'em, anyway) I find myself thinking more clearly.

So, when we set off the route plotter said 387 jumps to Varati, my first port of call before Sol. Incidentally, according to EDSM, 387 was the number of systems I'd discovered at the time. That coincidence I took to be a good omen.

There were a lot of neutrons in Empyrean Straits but we weren't going to go full-on express Neutron Highway, Diary. No. We were going to be doing astrobiology and exploration too, like we're supposed to... which is why we found ourselves, a mere two jumps in, stopping over three days on some stupidly dark moon trying to find an Aleoida Spica in the permanent gloom. Honestly, I swear that place had a negative albedo.

But that was fifteen jumps ago, Diary, and now we're in The Norma Arm. Hadn't counted on there still being so many Neutrons 'en route'... suppose I should have done. Still 351 jumps to go, though, so I'll need to keep an eye on my FSD health if ever so many more of those are neutron-boosted, but I can synth enough AFMU ammunition to keep us healthy. 'Fingers crossed'
