The Hunt: Chapter 5

“Delacy Victro Alpha November, you are cleared to approach on current vector and land on pad one zero,” came the static voice of a station controller.  The squawk box cut out and the muted distorted chatter of local traffic hummed throughout the cabin. The pilot guided his ship through the narrow slit. Long sharp shadows crawled along the surface of the flight deck like some insidious creeping tendrils. Distracted a lone dock worker gazed overhead and was greeted with a ghastly mass of twisted metal, spikes and thick armor plates welded to the hull of what was once the body of an Anaconda. Its angry red thrusters cut out and the massive ship drifted noiselessly towards the landing pad.

Hovering over it the anaconda pilot brought the ship down with a hiss of hydraulics as the thick landing gears took on the weight of the large ship and the whine of a engine spun down a clear sign that the ship had ended a long journey. From under the belly of the ship a large cargo lift descended until it touched the deck below. Upon it were large heavy crates full of unknown contents and two men....
