Five years of Colonia – Faraway village near end of the constructing bridge

Jaques Station is the most visited place in Colonia. The first station in region, three tourist beacons, carrier wharf… Local tourists, traders and businessmen are often visiting the place too. Resident pilots got used to the view, shown below, Al often see it several times per day. However… 
Al watched the mark on calendar - five years of Colonia will be soon! And I am here even more, arrived before the first community goal. The first flight took nearly a week – was looking quick enough. How green I was, having in mind upcoming 24hr turnarounds, one half of the way – wit full cargo load! Only two stations with large pads in region, markets are completely empty, new visitors, waiting for something… And magnificent view from cockpit – really not comparable with old bubble. Men in Colonia were waiting not too long community goal started. P5 for our company as the result, waiting for stations creations. Several months with new stations only on surface – tiny faraway village. After this – wave of rapid growth and… nearly nothing after it. The village grew from tiny to small and stopped
Al reminded his discussions with friends about this. They are always talking about improvements, treating them, as growing. Yes, several engineers arrived to Colonia, we have now carrier wharf, technology brokers, material traders. Carrier wharf on the image was not always here indeed. Tiny village have now own watermill, blacksmiths, sawmill… But what about new houses? Nearly nothing during 3-4 years.
However… Old days are really passing away. Many Colonia oldimers are deeply breathing in sorrow about this, but life is always changing. Often the same way, as millenniums ago, and the changes may be predictable for men, knowing history. The first harbingers were carriers – small village received barge connection with “another shore”. More visitors for village blacksmiths for changing horseshoes. And now… Colonia bridge is under construction. Readiness to more changes is really needed, because all the villages near bridges are growing after bridge opening. Small village, large village, maybe even city – there are many such samples, not only in the old Earth history. And Colonia will be larger too– sooner, or later. Of course, oldtimers will remind the old small village, maybe even with pity, but the bridge construction is ongoing. And life cannot be changed - many things, such as non-written rules of villages growth are the same, as three millenniums ago. 22000 light years from the home of mankind is not changing this.
