Pamantesc Facility Deliveries
01 Apr 2022Tyy'sun Eson
Tyy’sun Eson walks along the short tarmac landing pad from underneath the sleek form of his Orca ‘Vetted Sable’ and begins the trek across Pamantesc’s rocky and sandy surface toward the research facility set against a jagged bluff overlooking Derenjat Crater. He is flanked by his flight crew including pilots Zahara Clayton and Dianna Tyson, as well as a few administrators from the Azura Tribunal facility. The trek would only take about ten minutes, and Eson’s artemis flight suit and dignitary garb could easily withstand the gusts of slicing sandy wind. Though it is only a grade one engineered suit, Eson looked forward to upgrading it soon at the new facilities on New London with rare items procured by Renkin Jeffery. Such luxuries were rare so far from humanity's womb. The hazardous conditions of Pamantesc made any exposure of delicate equipment an expensive prospect and so as he goes Eson glances back over his shoulder to watch the loading team beginning to remove delicate supplies and crates to restock the research facility to ensure they are handling matters with all due care. Glassware, electronics and sensitively calibrated lab equipment among other items.
Satisfied, he proceeds briskly across the rocky flats leading toward the expansive crater edge and the underground research facility housed in a bluff up ahead. As he goes Tyy'sun notices the hulking frame of a Type 9 Heavy moving through the thin upper atmosphere far off on the horizon. He reaches up to queue a comms button on his helmet, “Be advised, Sable, it looks like La Cucaracha is conducting an air drop today, lets get loaded and out of Emergency Services way.”
The airdrops are part of the Pamantesc support operations of the Demuynck Memorial Outpost in orbit lead by Charles H. Starpiercer and are far less delicate in nature but no less critical to survival: Fertilizers and Fuels. Teams from the research facility would be heading out soon to locate and pickup the dropped cargo casings and Eson wanted to be out of their hair. Even so he knew the crews would make a Bullseye on the dropzone for the research facility and habitats at Derenjat just like they always do.
Within a few hours Eson has conducted his business with the settlement leadership inside and was off to continue his Director's tour of the stations and outposts of Azura space. The meeting was not without arguments and passion, but the colony so far has been a success, despite the hardships of taking root on such a distant frontier.
