Keep your eyes on the gauge.

A big thank you to the Fuel Rats this morning, especially Commander Grimmad who I was unable to show my gratitude. As I play in VR I find it almost impossible to use the chat box which makes me appear ungracious. Unfortunately I have used them before when I first started but didn't think going on for a thousand hours in I would be in this predicament again.
Had a torrid two sessions trying to trade a T9 full of Tritium and was making my way to rendezvous with a Carrier in the back of the beyond when I had some seriously hostile attention from several determined pirates. Apart from improved shielding the T9 has no weaponry and I'm sure you know they have the ability of a Super Tanker, which I guess it is. I managed to scramble my way to a local Star Port with shields down to 4 pc. I decided to complete repairs and stay overnight and resume my journey the next day ( today).
I knew I had to refuel on route and as I had upgraded my fuel scoop just prior to setting off. Unfortunately not long into the flight I attracted yet again a load of unwanted attention and had to really concentrate on avoiding the ongoing interdiction and stay in one pice. Loosing the T9 with a full hold of Tritium was not an acceptable option.
However, although I managed to scramble my way out of trouble I soon realised my need to refuel and it slowly dawned on me that Star after Star was not a Fuel giver and I searched in vain for a Star Base or a Fleet carrier.
I gambled on my last drop of fuel which didn't pay off so that was that. Out of fuel, out in the middle of nowhere and out of luck. Thank goodness for the guys at Fuel Rats who saved my skin. Again.
