Got chewed out again

Was running some missions near the edges of Imperial/Federation space and took some Imperial mission.Immediately got interdicted by a couple of "pirates" Anacondas looking to trash some of my mission data.
When I got over to Gresh, one of the suits pulled me into the control tower and started berating me about how much deal-making they're gonna have to do to keep me from being down-rated for making any progress in my Imperial rank during my probationary period.
I started laughing while he was yelling at me and the other suits in the room looked at me like I was going out of my mind, which just made me laugh even harder, which drove the first guy into such a deep rage that he finally clammed up. He asked me if I thought this was a joke. I told him no. He asked me why I was laughing at something that I didn't think was a joke. I told him it was funny that he was mad.
He finally told me to beat it until I could take my position seriously and I mentioned that I still had some missions to run. He said to finish up any Imperial missions I had and not to take any further Imperial missions until the end of my probationary period unless otherwise explicitly ordered. I started laughing again when he looked at me to ask if I understood him clearly.
I barely made it back to the Burr before I finally stopped laughing about it.
