I am less than comfortable with where I am at the moment

So they assigned me to Cemiess. I'm not exactly happy about this decision. I'm dead in the middle of The Emperor's territory after being frozen out of the ranks for six weeks when, all things considered, I was progressing pretty smoothly. Whatever they think my attitude problem is, I was working my ass off under increasingly bear-like conditions. Whatever.
The man in the black suit said I should speak to the suit on site when I got to Meech and, as ever, he was not thrilled to find out that I am who I said I was. I mentioned it to the man in the black suit afterward and he just started laughing before the sound of his voice trailed off and the comms cut out.
"Try to keep your hands to yourself, Ms. Nain."
Literally the first thing out of his mouth when I stepped into his office. No more than two steps, by the way. Right foot. Left foot. Handcuffs.
A bunch of the Imperial family live in the system, The Empress included, but I don't particularly see how that's gonna be of any help to me in this situation. It would be awesome if The Empress decided to enlist me in her personal guard, though. I figure that would be a good way to get to know her better. I don't even know if she has one of those. I dunno.
I've been running into The Empress' people here and there and they've been suggesting I strategize my work schedules around what the Empress needs, especially now with my rank freeze lifted, but being a short hop from The Emperor's capitol that seems like it might be a little difficult to coordinate.
I'm not sure what the man in the black suit was thinking when he made the decision to try to get me placed here, or if he was even thinking at all, but he definitely enjoyed watching me squirm whenever he brought up The Empress. It's something he used to do during training and, now that I'm a full-blown pilot, I'm less than thrilled about the idea that he'd bring it up during an assignment briefing. He didn't even give me an assignment. He was basically just like, and I'm paraphrasing, "Your wife lives here so you should do things that will impress her."
Big jerk... I'm glad I used plasma accelerators when he scheduled my last training dogfight those years ago.
