Well... hmmm

So... hmmm...I was doing some independent exploration in the ETA Carina nebula when I got a holofac request from the man in the black suit marked "Urgent." I sent a comms message over, letting him know I was on vacation and received an immediate request back, saying "The last one said 'Urgent.'"
So I found a place to touch down in Galileo and the man in the black suit pops up on my comms with his hair disheveled and his face covered in sweat.
"Cadence, have you discussed any of your plans with CMDR MoosemanSmith or any other Pilot's Federation pilots?" I wasn't sure if he was serious, considering the fact that I wouldn't have been in ETA Carina without having discussed the plans to go there with Scarlet. His eyes were half-crazed and his jaw trembled up and down. I crinkled my lips and chin upward and squinted my eyes, inadvertently.
"Uh... well... I wouldn't be over here without having done so, don't you think?" A look of panic flashed across his face and his arms disappeared on either side of the holo sensors. The whole of the holo shifted downward and I was given a look at the top of his desk, on which sat a paper marked "Urgent" that looked to, strangely, have the same wrinkles I might have expected from the last time I saw one of those things.
"Do you know what this is, Cadence?" He whipped the holo sensors back in place before looking at me with the same crazed look on his face. I remembered the seeing the stamp on the day before the Nine Martyrs attack just because everything about those few days was seared into my memory. Those little meaningless details that a person would otherwise totally ignore become far more important when you're trying to make sense of the senseless.
"Is that the document from your man in Sanos?" I turned my head to the side and gave him a look of suspicion. His eyes darted left and right a couple of times before he responded,
"What? No. What are you talking about?" He shook his hands in front of him repeatedly while shaking his head back and forth before continuing, "Coral just sent word of something she found in her internals. She said it might be linked to the Pilot's Federation's central communications network- possibly in relation to the Federation's surveillance program. Something about it being a kill switch." I remembered CMDR Jameson.
I sat in silence for a minute and he ruffled through some papers on his desk before continuing,
"Get out of there and find somewhere in deep space. I'll have Coral walk you through the internals when she figures out what's going on with it."
So... now... I'm sitting here in the middle of a ravine waiting for Coral to get back to me about this kill switch that'll leave me here stranded here in my SRV... and there's some weird piano music playing through my radio that just makes this situation all the creepier
