INTERVIEW: TAPE 1

GALNET REPORTER: What lead you to these acts of barbarity? The Federation says you have killed hundreds of pilots. There is a video supposedly from your ship inside a combat zone, shooting down Federal ships in a civil war that up until approximately 6 hours prior, you weren't involved in. How can you defend this kind of violence?VYPR: You can't break a man the same way you would break a dog or a horse. No no, the harder you push, punish, or ride a man; the taller he stands. To break a man's will, to break his spirit, you have to break his mind. Men have this idea that there's a proper way to kill someone. I used to be guilty of this. A cultural idea of chivalry and combat rituals that harkens back to ancient times when men wore armor and carried swords. No. The truth is, the notion of chivalry is absurd; it's an aesthetic. You have to break that notion. Shoot to wound, and execute the wounded. Burn them. Take them into close combat. Show them what a horrible, messy thing it is to kill a man; and then show them that you relish in it. Take videos of yourself killing their comrades and distribute the vid-feeds to the local guerillas. Make them watch you dance between shots of plasma slugs in the black only to shatter the pilot's canopy and in a flash watch their cockpit light up with flames as a corrosive shell sends that ship hurtling into the planet below. When they watch this, you become stronger, you become better. Their personal monster.
GR: What sets you apart from the same people who you call monsters, then?
VYPR: Hahaha. Because I never forget; it's a display, a posture. Like a Lion's roar, or a Wolf baring its' teeth. If you lose yourself in the display: you become lesser. No longer a man, but a monster. And that will be fatal.
