INTERVIEW: TAPE 5.5
06 Apr 2021CMDR Vypr
GALNET REPORTER: Why this system? People need liberation all over the bubble. Why here? Why my home?VYPR: Every place is somebody's home, pal; I don't start wars, I didn't start this one. It would seem that it's your fellow colonists who want each other dead.
GR: But why [REDACTED]? We never had issues with your people before. Until just a few years ago, I hadn't even heard of Yuri Grom or the Euryale Pilots.
VYPR: Would you rather me be somewhere else? Killing system security and wreaking havoc in a system you don't give a shit about?
GR: But what if this was your home? What would you do if suddenly your way of life was under siege?
VYPR: And you see, that's the problem. EG space is my home. So why should I give a shit about your system? Why should anyone? Hundreds of ships, billions of credits worth of assets turn to molten slag every hour across the bubble. Men in combat suits of varying generations fight in tight corridors and over hills and in craters spilling blood every day like it's cheap liquor. And for what? Power? Money? A flag on the map? I am here to keep the same people who ruined my home system from ruining yours any further. And right now I'm doing a pretty good job of it.
GR: And what about the freighters you intercepted? The miners who you had slain? What about the system security pilots who tried to stop you? What was their part in this?
VYPR: Every metric ton of luxury foodstuffs being shipped off to another federal system might as well be getting shipped straight to their handlers in Sol. They are traitors, to you, me, and the rest of humanity. I felt nothing when I squeezed the trigger. And I felt nothing when I let go.
