VYPR: A while ago, I found this recorder among the remnants of the wreckage of my friend [REDACTED] ship. I found their Courier slammed into the side of a planet, full of holes and scores from laser blasts. I suspect they were leaving their settlement when somebody decided to attack them before they could low-wake out. She wasn't the type to know that she might get lucky and high wake out. I liked her a lot, and though she was clearly a civilian and we didn't always see eye to eye; I still think the fight she chose was an honorable one.There are people who are looking to quell our little insurrection. They want us quietly removed from the space. I figure it has much to do with the fact that we have been meddling. In response to this; they have decided to go after an innocent journalist who was learning about our cause in order to quiet our publicity. This assassination was an act of cowardice and will not be tolerated. At this point, our ships are already in the space and our boots already on the ground. Those responsible for her murder will pay dearly for it.
I have transmitted this log as an emergency transmission within the system to serve as a message to our enemies in the field. Our opposition will not disappear simply because you decided to play under-handed. The last massacres will pale in comparison to what will come next.
