Jaques 5
21 Oct 2016Esral Sa Nikto
I've begun my fifth trip out to Jaques Station today, after finishing my tasks back in the bubble. I'm currently in the Swowns sector, 1356 Ly from Sol. I've bypassed my old waypoints and I'm making a trail parallel and south of them. So far, there are many stars already scanned, and I've only been able to tag two stars with my moniker. That may change as I get further away from the beaten path to Colonia.I've lowered shields and shut down non-essential modules, at the 1K Ly mark. My new 6A fuel scoop is performing wonderfully well, and I've been able to skim each scoopable star without having to stop for refueling. What a time saver.
Taking a break now, may be back at the helm in a few hours to travel a few more systems.
Day 1 Part 2
Traveled another 1000 Ly, recorded two more WW. My heading is more southerly, taking me into systems not likely visited before. I'm 2346 Ly from Sol.
Day 2
Got a late start today, but managed to get 4308 Ly out from Sol. Really enjoying the way the Clipper handles, 31.28 Ly jump range, modded. Easy to fly, and stays cool while scooping. The only mistake I made was trying to land on a planet, and forgetting to bring my shields up for the landing. 96% hull, but all modules at 100%.
Did not do very well with discovery today, not even a single WW. I'm half way across the spiral arm gap, when I get across I plan to follow the line of the spiral arm as it curves up toward Colonia. It'll add a few more jumps to the trip, but I want to try a new route anyway. Hoping tomorrow brings better discoveries.
Day 3
Now at 6166 Ly from Sol. Scanned a system along the way that had 2 WWs, as I was scanning one of them a USS popped up. I scanned it and found a canister containing Survey Data, worth 157K, I scooped it into my hold. Still no ELWs yet, or ringed stars.
The trip is going well and I'm making good progress, the 6A fuel scoop is a great help to reduce fueling time. I will fit my other ships accordingly. Hull is down to 94%, as I got a bit too close to a star.
Day 4
7136 Ly from Sol. Not much progress today, as RL had most of my time. Did manage to scan a few systems, and came up with one WW. Today Deep Recon X started their Go West trip. I'll meet them when they get to Jaques, and continue on with them from there. I expect to meet them in 10 days, or so.
Day 5
Made up a little lost time today, now 10,056 Lys from Sol. 12Klys to Jaques left to go. I'm still on track to follow the outer edge of the spiral arm, so that will add a little more distance once I break from that and angle into the Colonia Nebula. The lack of star density is not noticeable, about the same as in the bubble, so the GalMap is working well, no slow This was one reason I decided to take that route.
Scanned a number of systems in the 115 jumps today. Found seven WWs, but still no luck with ELWs. Nothing out of the ordinary, no ringed stars or black holes.
Day 6
9600 from Colonia Hub, 13000 from Sol. Decided to buckeyball it today, honk/scoop/jump, no stopping to scan anything. Did not have much game time today, and I want to stay on schedule and get there in 11 days overall, so could not afford scanning time. I will have an impact on my Elite status, but I can do lots of exploring once I get there. Tomorrow may also be a buckeyball kind of day.
Day 7
6400 Lys to go. Found my first ELW of this trip, and an Amonia World, in the same system. I bookmarked it for further exploration later. Also found a few WWs spread along the edge of the spiral arm. GalMap is behaving well, no slow downs while plotting. I will try to make the trip in two more days, about 3200 Lys each day. I will leave the edge of the spiral arm and head directly into Colonia Nebula. Hull 92%.
CMDR Thunderguts is on his way there to, coming from Beagle Point. He said he had a mishap while landing on a planet and his hull is down to 23%. Luckily for him he's 9Klys from Jaques and he should be able to make it for repairs. I'll wager he'll get there before me.
Day 8
3100 Lys to go. Found another ELW in the last system of the day, and a few more WWs. I have some family business to do, and will be away for a couple days. I may get some time tomorrow morning, but have to leave mid day on a sad trip. There's a CG at Jaques for the next two weeks, so my timing is good, as far as getting back there in time to take part. Maybe Sunday I'll have time in game.
Day 9
1860 Lys from Jaques. It's taking me 31 minutes to make 33 jumps, 33 jumps/1000Lys. Started the journey at 35 jumps/1000Lys, now more efficient travel, due to increased density of stars.
I will try to finish the trip today, if I can, before my RL duties kick in. Not sure if I'll get there today.
Part 2 Arrival 10/21/3302
Quickly repaired the ship. Integrity was down to 26%, but I did not check it before I left Atata, so I can't know how much I lost during this journey. Sold the UC data for 11.8 M Crs, not too bad a payday. Explorer Rank went from Pioneer +19% to Pioneer +25%. I will need lots more time in the black to make Elite.
Glad to be back here. I look forward to whatever the future will bring. The community here is mostly friendly and willing to work to grow Colonia.
