Many players consider the route to Palin to be a dreadful voyage that takes huge amounts of time.To be honest, that is bullshit. The most difficult engineer to get to is actually Marco Quent. After getting a hint to his presence and since many players do not even care about Sirius Corporation in the beginning (why should they) Marco is one tough SOB.
First to even meet him you have to befriend witch Sirius Corporation that has it´s HQ in Sirius, which is Permit-only system. So you need to grind your way up the ladder of the corporation, butlicking every mission in Procyon system, to that you may choose between doing missions in Procyon (stations are several thousands of LS away) or make a 5000 LY trip, or grind on Rares and bring them to Sirius Corporation controled facility.
If you make the exploration trip of at least 5000 LY, you must sell those juicy data at Procyon Sirius corporation controled station or outpost. As a bonus this also unlocks Palin´s hook up challenge.
When you are finished grinding the Sirius Corporation, you buy the Permin to Sirius and land on Lucifer, where Quent lives. Then you find out you need 25 Modular Terminals to even talk to him...that is quite the unexpected problem.
Why? because MT´s are mission rewards, and therefore they are random as rewards, I recommend Shu Babassi so you can also rank up through imperial navy ranks. After 200 + missions you finally have random 25 modular terminals to get to him (also bring other things rewarded to you like CMM composite)
You give the 25 MT´s to Quent and grind up those ranks of upgrades, which unlocks you Palin location.
All you need to do to Palin is just to hand him 25 unknown fragments, which can be found in HIP 14479 in random Signal sources as (anomaly detected)
You headbutt the artifact, which cracks and gives you Fragment. One collected fragment gives you 3 materials Unknown Fragments, do the maths 24/3 = 8 unknown artifacts + 1 more for finishing the thing. Then head to Maia and give them to him that is all. About 3 hours or less compared to Quents 2 weeks.
