Qeno was born in the deep space of LHS 3447 among a trading caravan moving station to station in order to craft a wealthy living in the chaos between the Pilot's Federation and the Empire. Being raised in the caravan she was also one of the many children who had lived with many parents under the non-spoken agreement that the parents will look after all of the children. Some of the parents even taught Qeno how to safely operate a Sidewinder at the opposition of her mother raising Qeno to become 'a dependant housewife' and others taught Qeno how to defend against opponents using various tools found aboard the ships found in the caravan.
The somewhat quiet upbringing was brought to a halt 10 years after Qeno's birth when an unusually large band of pirates descended on the caravan between [insert point] and [insert point]. Everyone had decided to enter the sleep cycle that night and each ship in that caravan shook as boarding parties broke through the hull. At that time some members on Qeno's ship had armed themselves and began to fire at the intruders.
Qeno had remained sound asleep through the boarding process and while she slept. The invaders made swift work of the defenders and she was the only one who failed to act. So the pirates took the child while she slept and bound her to the flagship of the pirate fleet. The child was later discovered to have knowledge of safely operating starships and was immediately bound to a co-pilot's chair on a scouting vessel under blaster point.
Only few months went by before a combat bond was established for the retrieval of any survivors from that caravan and at each step taken by contractors to retrieve her the priates were one step ahead. At one point Qeno was close to being detected by sending out a distress signal from the scouting vessel she was bound to and screaming for help from that signal. That attempt was short lived and would never happen again since after the incident the pirate crew commissioned a doctor from the Empire to remove her ability to speak. After the surgery she was restrained to the co-pilot's seat without any hands on the controls and left there.
Days passed and eventually a wandering bounty hunter caught onto the ship then rescued the distressed 10 year old child. We start the story eight years later when the child buys her first ship.
