Never really done one of these before so, here goes!I'm Elixnie Alysyn of the Pilots Federation, this is my first log! Date is 29th of May, 3307 - Time 2140. Today I awoke in my personal quarters aboard the Miso Udon, my F Delacy Anaconda multi role relief vessel on the surface of Europa, sixth moon of Jupiter in the Sol system. Had a quick breakfast and set out for the Asterope system in the Pleiades Star cluster. I was on Europa for an expedition to a geological site, and I guess It's very pretty. Not to mention Jupiter itself. That's why I started all this, to see it all. In some ways I feel like I've reached that goal. Some ways, not so much. I got "pulled over" today by a System Sec Vessel after launching off Europa. Guy must've been having a rough day or something- real short with me. Thought I was hauling narcotics or something, like do I look like a drug runner? Anyway I managed to get away from him - That sounds malicious - I didn't run away.
After I finished up with him and he let me go (There we go) I traveled to Asterope. HQ of the AXI where I've been volunteering some of my time to help out! I linked up with some other Commanders at Copernicus Observatory and together we set out to hunt some Thargoid Interceptors. I was flying my Alliance Chieftain - The Aniketos - and my Wingman Yeetington was flying a Krait MK2. My wingman brought one of his colleagues from the Black Order. I've flown with him before, his name is Crossroads - and he's been improving steeply since last I saw. He show's much promise. Today was a good day! We destroyed 5 Interceptors with minimal damage to our own systems. On the third I got into a tight spot with a Thargon Swarm. I took multiple missiles from the Swarm and they knocked out my maneuvering thrusters. The good news was I had a lot of lateral thrust so I drifted out of range of the Interceptor while Yeetington - my wingman - covered me. Fighting them really makes you think. The more we fight the more I wonder - what are they, what do they want? Its all very exciting and It's why I've set out to try and understand them. It just so happens that to understand them, sometimes takes a hammer, not a scalpel. But this line of work, It's very dangerous. If Dad knew what I was doing out here he'd kill me himself. I really do need to go home one of these days, but I'm just so busy. And maybe just a little bit scared. But today was scary, I almost died. And I guess I "almost die" all the time but today I Really almost died. After destroying that Interceptor I docked at Copernicus and had a moment to myself. I've undertaken a very dangerous line of work and at any moment I could be killed. Even hanging around this Star cluster is a hazard, more so now that we're in what is affectively another war with the Thargoid Alien race - which by the way - WE STILL KNOW NOTHING ABOUT!
I need time off.
For now I'm docked at Copernicus, I've been basically camped out here as of late, I went back to grab a few things from my apartment at Hauser's Reach but otherwise I've been staying at Asterope. Doing what I can to help Humanity. Maybe I'm just doing this because I'm bored. Or I want to spice up my otherwise bland life. Today was spooky, I'll have to do some more custom engineering on the Aniketos before I take it out again. Maybe get one of the AXI fellas to look at it. Can't get that close - not again.
