I'm finally home!After two weeks in the black I've returned from Sagittarius A*. Took me alittle longer to get home than going to, I took the first day off to see another anomaly. On the border of the Norma Arm there are Void Hearts. Now if you've never heard of a Void Heart before I wouldn't blame you, I didn't know they existed until I saw it on Galnet while staying at Explorer's Anchorage. As always I'll link pictures below. Void Hearts are like, giant balls of thorny bramble that look very organic. It appeared to have these pyramids inside. Could it be growing them? There were some pyramids floating freely among the field of bramble and upon scanning them, they - for lack of a better term - deployed a cloud of something I couldn't get a read on. But what ever It was I had to burn it off at a star, It was some caustic substance. It melted away my cargo hatch before I could get it off, lost all my limpets too! After I definitely overstayed my welcome I continued home. I got a status request from Leo but I ignored it, I'm getting too close to these people. What happens when someone dies? And considering our line of work it most definitely is a when rather than an if. I'm not ready yet. I'm not going to abandon them - Never. I can't get too close to anyone in this world. Life can get snatched up all too quickly now. Its not fair but I can't let myself get hurt, not again.
On the third day I couldn't be bothered with anything. I had gotten a second status request with a text attachment, Leo seemed really worried about me. I just laid in bed all day, letting the ship fly itself. That's the great thing about Delacy ships, they have great autopilots. I couldn't get out of bed, or didn't want to - Slept most of the day. I was awoken by a hail from Sully, a System Security Officer I know. Young guy like me, I think he's 25. Federal Navy reserve - and when I got to my chair, It seemed I was home. I slept through over half of the journey. It's safe to assume that If a ship drops into system and doesn't move, the helmsman is most likely asleep - or dead, so Sully didn't sound too worried. I invited him aboard for breakfast, and I made some breakfast meal from the MRE's I had packed. Sully had his lunch he packed and asked who I killed. I suppose this was sparked by the burn marks and missing paint on the Miso Udon. I chuckled and explained no one for now. That I had actually gone to Sagittarius A*. I showed him the pictures I took and he seemed really into it. I suppose he and I shared the same dream when we were kids. He's a sweet guy - maybe in another life.
Anyway
I'm back at Hauser's Reach, my bed is the best thing about this place. I got home 9 hours ago and it's time to get back to work. Something to keep my mind occupied. I think I'll head to the Pleiades Nebula and search for life Planetside. Life other than the abundance thereof that enjoys kill us humans, and we - them. While I'm there I might as well hunt a few. It feels like that's the only thing keeping me from going insane.
