So... I finally did it. I finally got my Pilots Federation License!
I was so excited that I woke up four hours early for the test. The instructor was nice, but..a little intense, I guess. Maybe I was just nervous.
My family didn't approve, of course. I knew mom would be upset, and dad would be angry, but I didn't expect Ray to side with dad like that. Makes me wonder if it would be better if they were all as self-absorbed as Maria. My sister is so caught up in her fiancée that I don't think she even realized what everyone was arguing about.
But now... Now, I'm free of all that. No more dad telling me what to do, no more mom worrying about what terrible things will happen to me, no more bossy brother, and no more space-brained sister.
....I'm sure they'll cool off in a few days, right?
And besides, I'm fine! I'm an adult, now, and I can take care of myself. They'll see.
I bypassed the flight assist in the Swallow's nav computer, but.. it's a little different than the aerojets back home. I suppose I'll need to hold off on stripping out the landing computer.
Well, I think it's time to pore over some star charts. I spent the night at this asteroid base, but..the dock workers..look a little..rough, so, I slept on the ship. It would be really nice to dock somewhere with hot food. And a shower.
