Well, I think I'm finally getting the hang of this old girl.
...oh, who am I kidding? I tried to land planetside today and buried all three of the landing struts so deep that it's a miracle they didn't snap right off.
I suppose it could have been worse.
Well, I guess it was. I decided to take the Scarab out to see how well it handled the low-gravity environment, and I managed to stumble right into an illegal slave ring! Just my luck, right? The Scarab made mercifully short work of the defense drones, but I thought my heart was going to pound right out of my chest the whole time! But then my heart stopped completely when the sensors picked up a life sign among the debris. Luckily, it wasn't one of the pirates. The poor girl couldn't have been much younger than me, and I don't want to think about what they would have done to her. I took her back to a station, along with some of the scrap. It turns out she was a missing person, and there was even a reward. Oh, wait until I tell Peter! What an adventure!
I stopped in at White Rose for the night, after I almost ran out of fuel, like an idiot. It sounded like a nice station, though, and it hasn't disappointed. Hot food and showers: I am in heaven!
