Jameson Crash Site - HIP 12099 1 BThis is a prime example of why I steer clear of politics. They control the narrative, and Jameson Jr. doesn't know what really happened to his father. Or maybe he does, I don't know. But I didn't, until I stumbled across this wreckage. We all know the story, Jameson embarked on a heroic suicide mission to stop the alien advance, and never returned. What we don't know is that he had no idea what he was delivering, and that his superiors are the ones who killed him. He thought he was just disabling their hyperdrive, not melting the entire ship! And they knew he was a man of morals (probably), and so they made sure the truth died with him. The autopilot pointed his ship at a planet, disabled the navigation, and hit the thrusters. He had just enough time to record the truth, for his son, before slamming headfirst into HIP 12099 1 B.
I will say, though, that's some quality engineering, for his ship to have survived the crash, even if he didn't.....and plenty of materials for salvage too. Maybe I'm developing a conscience, as once again, I feel kinda bad about taking this stuff. Not bad enough to stop me, of course, but still, I don't like it. There's definitely something to be said for being jaded.
