This will teach me to be altruistic. This will teach me to feel a sting of patriotism for my species. The boogey man! The big bad Thargoids! How tough could they be? Well, ever cautious, I wasn't taking chances. I outfitted my new Krait Mk II with AX multicannon turrets, as many as I could, reinforced the hull, and even slapped on some guardian tech for good measure. I'd heard there were two types of alien goons, scouts and interceptors. I figured I'd cut my teeth on the scouts. Easy enough for a pilot of my considerable skill. I didn't even make it out there! How was I supposed to know they could interdict you mid-jump? I managed to swing my ship around to take a look, before they hit me with some kind of...pulse, shutting everything down. They did something and waked out, at which point I turned my ship around, headed back to the bubble, sold all my AX equipment and washed my hands of the whole endeavor.
