CMDR V4KY reporting in from DSSA #143.
A long period of time has passed, without an update. I believe the time has come for something to be written in the logbook, to clear the dust off and share the great news of what's been happening in the past couple of months. However, this is a very nice moment to introduce many new things that will come and boost some deep space activities on some levels. So let us begin.
1. S.T.A.R. Initiative
A number of successful rescue operations were conducted by CMDR Rick Floss who's a drilled fuel rat and a close friend, operating from DSSA Destiny Ascension. A strong friendship was formed a year ago, we helped each other since then whenever there was a need for help, restoring power to settlements, fend off pirates and such, but we also had pretty much same main goals. While exploring the area around #143 seeking Icy Pristine rings for Tritium mining locations and future operations, we thought about the general situation in the background regarding our strategic location as fleet carriers. We know we can do better. We had conversations about it many times via GalNet and in person aboard stations in The Bubble. Two individuals with great ideas, however not enough manpower, financial strength and/or time to make it real, so we laid out the plans for forming an initiative which binds major groups who help other CMDRs out there.
It carries the name of Strategic Rescue and Refuel - S.T.A.R. in short. A join initiative between the Fuel Rats, Hull Seals and Deep Space Support Array. The goal is to deploy our use existing fleet carriers and use them to deploy rescue teams to aid stuck ships and fleet carriers alike, spread out across The Milky Way. Sounds simple, but it takes planning, requires constant communication between groups and players willing to take part in this. So far, things are going as planned, but more needs to be done regarding logistics and manpower in general. More information will appear when time comes.
The deployed Fleet Carriers will hang around DSSA Fleet Carriers which are designated as Tritium Depots in-system. The DSSA Tritium Depots will sell Tritium to Fleet Carriers setting out on rescue missions to refuel stuck Fleet Carriers in deep space. The prices will be set accordingly, but more about that will be covered in future conversations.
2. Tritium Economy
I've talked about Tritium and hauling many times, big money sinks, different prices being put on this commodity to make up for what was lost, but never it has occurred to me to talk about establishing a working economy which rolls around Tritium where Destiny is. After many trials and errors to turn the situation in favor of everyone, it just didn't work. Up until now. The price for Tritium was 30k, 60k, 80k, 100k, but in the end, the price was set at fixed 150k/t.
With experience and information I've gathered, all those charts and reports, it really was a problem establishing a proper price for the location where #143 is deployed. We see folks leaving prices from min. 200k up to 500k/t. The situation isn't pretty good at Sag A*, probably because folks are also selling it there for over 500k/t.
That was a no-go. Another problem was to try and get folks to stay at Destiny mining or hauling, if they wish to earn some credits. I believe the solution is quite simple. If the selling price for Tritium is 150k/t, then the buy price (or donation price) will be 145k/t and I believe that's fair. I don't get to earn much from buying/selling (which isn't a problem), but the supply/demand would be more efficient (in theory). For the location of Destiny Ascension, the price is more than fair for other CMDRs who wish to buy Tritium they need for continuing their expeditions or trying to reach human-controlled space.
The idea behind it is to approach the buyer with a proper price for the commodity in this part of the galaxy (including the factors of hauling, mining, time and general manpower in that part of space), in which the buyer would found it reasonable and it would not be expensive for the buyer. This is the most fair approach I can set. None are trying to turn this into a business, but the financials must be balanced in order to maintain such operations of this size.
3. Additional Fleet Carriers
A project has been given a green light to acquire 4 new Drake-Class Fleet Carriers for hauling and storing commodities, mostly Tritium. Such operations are time consuming, but will be realized in a month or two. These Fleet Carriers will be deployed in Scheau Blao TB-A c28-274 and will have plenty of credits for a minimum of 5 years upkeep. This is a project worth 80 billion credits. 4 CMDRs have been selected for this task. CMDR Lente, Lummer, Berred and Silten. They have been personally selected due to their history of trading and plotting routes to systems rich with opportunities.
CMDR V4KY out.
