I've specced out an Asp Explorer to get 69ly (nice) of jump range using the Guardian FSD booster. It's very hard to get much further without unlocking more engineers which I just don't care for. I should be able to visit every region of the galaxy with this, so that's what I'm going to do. I have a route plotted to Kepler's Crest and I am going to spiral towards Sag A* from there, running several laps of the galaxy along the way. I'll be out there for months if not years. I've made sure everything is ready to go.Fuel scoop: Check

SRV: Check (I'm taking the Scorpion because it's harder to break)

Taking one last look through my quarters, everything is in order. Lakon always makes them small and practical, which I don't mind. I'll be looking out of the obscenely large panoramic windows for most of the day anyway. I've had the second seat converted to a small dining area, and plan to be landed somewhere for every meal. It gives me a great excuse to sneak in a Detailed Surface Scan, Universal Cartographics loves those, and I've had the DSS probes engineered for a larger scan radius so it should be less strain on the printer.
All I have to do now is finish typing this up and set off. As much as I like Jameson Memorial after getting Exploration elite, I can't call myself an elite explorer if I don't visit every region of the galaxy. Hopefully by the time I loop back around to the Inner Orion Spur, things will be a bit calmer.
