PROPRIETARY INFORMATION

FROM: Francesca Wolfe

SUBJECT:
CMDR Impala Mark - Special background check - Part 1

Erik,
There’s something really unusual going on here. To begin with, there are a number of discrepancies in the background of this commander, (hereafter called “the subject”.) I’ve begun with his military record, but it’s very strange and I have a hunch that the further back we look, the stranger it’ll get.

It’s a matter of public record that he served 18 years in the Federal Marine Corps. He enlisted as a private and rose through the ranks.
He served through many campaigns as an NCO and SNCO in the Special Operations Command.
At the battle of New Solomons, he was awarded the Federal Medal of Honor. He was a Gunnery Sergeant at the time, and was meritoriously directly commissioned to the rank of 1st Lieutenant. It was his 19th combat award. He has also earned an Obsidian Cross, two Platinum Stars AND eight Crimson Hearts. EIGHT! His superiors said that it was as if he had absolutely no fear of dying...
As is customary for Medal of Honor winners, he was offered his choice of assignment, and he chose flight school.
By all accounts, he was driven to succeed, graduated top of his class, and returned to Special Operations Command as a pilot, where he excelled in combat flying.
By this time, the brass had their eye on him as an up-and-comer. A potential general candidate, someday.
Then abruptly, five years later, as a Major, he was court-martialled for “conduct unbecoming” a Federal Marine Officer, following a classified incident.
I’ve pressed my Federal military contacts as hard as I dare, and they won’t, or can’t, shed any light on this. The best I can do is rumor. The rumor is that he was directly involved in the murder of a senior officer!
The mount-martial was completely classified. He was found guilty of “conduct unbecoming” and dishonourably discharged from the Federal Marine Corps.
This makes him the only person in history to be awarded the Federal Medal of Honor AND receive a dishonorable discharge!
And yet it was never in the media...
Nonetheless, somehow he was exonerated, or at least reinstated a few years later, and commissioned in the Federal Navy Auxillary, where he rose to the rank of Admiral before finally resigning recently under a secretive cloud.

His Federal military record is as bizarre as it is impressive. But digging deeper just keeps on revealing stuff with this guy. He’s like a goddamned onion!

I’ve heard that he holds a title in the Empire, as well. And while that’s not very uncommon, the circumstances around it are also mysterious. I’ll do a bit more digging and update you again soon.

- Fran
