1. Lave is a core Alliance world, and we believe it should stay Alliance controlled. We would expect the Federation and Empire to feel the same way about systems significant in their history like Facece or Exbeur.
2. The Alliance had a treaty with Lave Radio Network (LRN) regarding Lave. LRN broke this treaty. We have the evidence of a general agreement and terms, meaning their sneak attack was simply an act of bad faith, and the protestations that no treaty was agreed are disingenuous at best.. Rather than seeking to wiggle out of the treaty or pretend one did not exist, an honourable opponent would have either abided by it’s terms or officially ended it.
3. LRN now completely control Lave and operate a state-backed media monopoly in the system. This a regrettable throwback to the discredited Walden Dictatorship.
4. As with every authoritarian regime in history, LRN use their control of the media to portray themselves as victims of external aggression. Nothing could be further from the truth – consider who instigated two wars for control of an Alliance core system, the second as treaty breakers. Assertive negotiations are understandable – but playing the victim card as the aggressor is not.
5. Additionally, a group of pirates known as The Code have also broken treaty with AEDC, which is well documented and officially signed by both parties. These pirates have joined with the LRN dictatorship and other undeclared forces and are actively attacking Alliance territory outside Lave. We have the proof of this as part of our intelligence gathering.
6. AEDC will continue our resistance focus on Lave, regardless of attacks elsewhere. This will continue into the indefinite future until the forces arrayed against us decide to declare themselves publicly, and agree to a treaty officially supported by all parties to this conflict.
In summary, LRN is a regressive Dictatorship that the AEDC will resist in order to end the current reign of terror and to restore the prosperity and stability that was the hallmark of Alliance government in Lave.
