HELIOS!

Mindy Says we're going into Helios. And you know me, there's nothing I wont do for Mindy.
Now G.A.R.D. have been opposing us for some time here and there. We've had to modify our plans and repriotitise various AEDC operations.
GARD run with a very 'honourable' ethos, there's not much back room shennanigans, they play it how it lies and they play it straight. There's no closet deals or covert coalitions. They say who they are and they are who they say. 'Open Only' kinda folks. This isn't Lave ya know.
That attitude has garnered some highly respected folks to their ranks.
And they chose to make a stand in Helios.

So here's Ashenfox giving it a good old go:
(29 minutes but starts at 5m in I think)
PvP among equals is long and hard.
So over the days of the war, Helios became a hotspot for PvP.
Even I got in a kill, myself.
I fought Ashenfox but had to run with 11% hull. I chose to low wake and stay in system, where I was taken out by CMDR Cosmic Spacehead
Aashenfox gave me a bit of sledging for running, but my whole Ship Build is around survivability in extreme situations. My Krait was hardened in the fires of Lave where I faced ATR for weeks on end.
And while fighting him I got to test out a trick I've been getting my ship engineered towards. Silent Running and Target Lock Breakers! It takes while to engineer a combat ship for cold.
Wing vs Wing PvP in Combat Zones on opposing sides with a whole system at stake. Feds vs Alliance- You can't really ask for more compelling gameplay, or a more nailbiting war.
Oh my gosh! - AEDC even made the Top Ten Combat Squadrons Leaderboard!
Here's my kill, - the video is kinda boring, sorry. I'm a garbage combat pilot.
But here's Hapac's PvP video - and this is a much better vid.
As the week heated up, we saw many CMDRs from other teams. Supporting Federation we saw Murder Incorporated and a few others, on the Alliance side TCF put in a big push. There was also a contingent of Japanese CMDRs. Arigatōgozaimashita to you guys, that was a fun wing and a lot of Combat Zones won there. But yeah the Feds pulled a lot of folks into the war: https://steamcommunity.com/app/359320/discussions/0/1643164649224326234/
All up AEDC CMDRs reported 1500 Combat Zones won, but that doesn't count friends and Allies contributions.
Anyways, that was the week that was in Southern Alliance space.
Macarthur Ring and the whole system of Helios are now welcomed into the Alliance of Independent Systems.
There's a party at Macarthur Ring and Mindy Horton is hosting:
And please - can we get an F in chat for the G.A.R.D. commanders who woke up this morning Hostil in Macarthur Ring.
