The Voyage Home

After having spent enough time at the edge of the galaxy, it was time to head back to civilised space. As a consequence of being so far out, I had to again return via the Outer Arm Vacuus, with all the jump/navigation challenges faced previously. Thankfully I had plenty of materials to boost my FSD range, and the return journey had the added bonus of being able to retrace my original path whenever I got lost.My return journey takes me via 2 nebulae that I skipped over on my outward bound journey. Firstly, the Monkey Head Nebula (aka NGC 2174). It's purple and orange tones provide some nice views:

Monkey Head Sector JH-V c2-7:
Monkey Head Sector KC-V c2-9:
Monkey Head Sector CQ-Y d55:
Then, I head toward the tiny Butterfly Nebula (aka V651 Monoceros, aka NGC 6302). It is a simple system comprised of a Class A star, and it's Class M binary partner:
A sky full of colour.
