2,000 Ly's down, 7,000 ly to go!

*Begin Recording*It's been an incredible few days. First, there was an arsenic rush, managed to bag myself 12 units, and then Mrs Farseer worked her magic on the Renaissance Resurgent's FSD. The only downside was that I only had one data mined wake echo, and as such, the final touch to the FSD didn't come.
Nonetheless, at 30 lightyears per jump unladen, with two SRVs and two fighters, The Renaissance Resurgent has been transformed.
I also got to see Gjoni in action. Have to say she knows her stuff. We were interdicted by a Fed Agent, I took control of the Taipan and in no time at all, he was history. Have to say the Taipan is a joy to fly and more effective in combat than I thought it would be.
The Recon Mission
With the Renaissance Resurgent ready to fly, we have set off heading towards the NGC - 1495 Nebulae. We intercepted this Blind Pew transmission:
And his conclusions seem sound. I know others are looking in the Heart and Soul Nebulae and at the back of my mind...well you can't question too much in deep space.
Being out here is strangely wondrous. I don't have the patience to scan stars and planets, even though the opportunity for first discovery payouts are plentiful. But travelling in stars no human has seen before makes my spine tingle. Ahead is a distant nebula which I feel strangely drawn to.
It looks like a smile, a white crack in the dark universe. Could this be NGC-1495? Hard to tell from the map.
Yesterday, I picked up a signal source. I checked it out and found the remains of a destroyed ship, an anaconda I think. I picked up some mined data. Gets you thinking about things best not thought about on a long voyage. This is all that remained of this not so lucky commander;
And that's where we are. 2,000 lightyears from the bubble, with the NGC-1495 nebulae another 7,000 lightyears in front of us. I'm pleased with the build decisions on Renaissance Resurgent. Taking as many fuel tanks as we could has enabled us to do jump after jump without having to scoop. This is a refreshing change.
I have a few concerns; The ship explodes and I lose all progress. Pilot error would almost certainly be the cause unless we found aliens and ended up in a combat situation. This would be terrible.
My other concern is that as I approach NGC -1495 the stars get too thin and we can't make it. I have not expressed these concerns to my crew.
All this said, I can't help but be swept away at going where nobody has gone before, quite boldly if I may.
