re: Caesar, Jemine - patient AL533/P67-01

Mr Hodkin,

I am Doctor Hermann Schiller, consultant gynaecologist at the Abraham Lincoln Medicentre.

We have managed to stabilise Miss Caesar, although she remains in a critical condition. At present she is still unconscious following a severe bout of anaphylactic shock. We are caring for her in our intensive care unit, however this lacks the facilities needed to provide adequate treatment in this type of case. We are therefore transferring her to the Summer Bay high dependency clinic in Australia, Earth.

There are over 10,000 bio-nanobots in what is left of Miss Caesar's uterus, fallopian tubes and ovaries. We are unable to extract them due to their number, their microscopic size, and the fact that they have already begun to effect repairs on the patient's reproductive system at a cellular level. Attempting removal would, in my opinion, risk causing even further damage.

It would appear that the anaphylactic shock was probably triggered by one of the chemical agents in the transport device inserted into Miss Caesar's vagina. Thanks to the product information you provided, we are obtaining data from the developers of the device. It would be helpful if you could tell me whether Miss Caesar has any allergies?

Yours,

Dr H Schiller, MD (gyn, obst)

Dr Schiller,

Dankeschön for the updates you've provided, it gives me a great deal more peace of mind than I had last night. I'm going to be contacting her grandparents at LHS 3447 later today to see what allergies she has at present. Either way, my medical training would suggest that it's probably one of the chemicals that they coat the device with, it may have had a chemical reaction with the lubricant used and that may have started it all off.

I'm no doctor (Although I did do a year of pre-med), but I agree with your opinion concerning the nanobots; I see no point in preventing their course of treatment, both from a safety perspective and in respect of Jem's likely wishes.

Due to various assignments with the Federation I won't be able to come down to Earth for a couple of days, although I will be at Beta Hydri if needed.

Kind Regards,

S Hodkin
