The shuttles were back in service next day, so Nagita took me down to her homeworld to visit her parents. Nagita had warned me it was a cold planet, and she was right! The Fastrak ride from the spaceport to Nagita's hometown was in a heated compartment, but once outside I soon began to shiver in the sub-zero temperature. I didn't have to endure it long, however, and at Nagita's home I borrowed some of her clothes to wear for my stay. I was particularly taken with a gorgeous blue Tarska coat, and jokingly told Nagita she would be lucky to get it back!

Nagita's parents were lovely, and obviously overjoyed to see their daughter again. Nagita's father, Lloyd, had lost the use of his right arm while serving in the Federal military during the 3270's. Taking an enforced retirement meant that Lloyd could devote himself to his beautiful wife, Catherine.

We were soon joined by two of Nagita's cousins; Josh, a confident young man of 25, and Matthew, a lively 18 year old. Both were very good-looking, and both were intent on attracting my attention as much as possible. Nagita later told me they had asked her if I had a boyfriend. "Of course she has," she'd told them. "How can a nice girl like her be single!"

The six of us spent a pleasant few hours chatting. Nagita described her harrowing adventures against the Kumo Crew, taking care not to make it sound too gruesome. Her parents listened with rapt attention, and I could see that having Nagita home again meant everything to them.

We had a delicious home-cooked meal of Beef Bourguignon and Merlot wine, followed by a trip to one of the local bars for a drink. I sensed that Nagita needed to spend more time alone with her family so, not wanting to outstay my welcome, I thanked Nagita and her parents for their hospitality.

"Thank you for coming, Jem," Nagita said. "And please, from now on, I would like you to call me Nathalie."

Soon I was back at Isherwood Gateway, relaxing in a nice warm bed, and cherishing the memories of time spent with my new friend.

I made some courier runs during the following two days, to Liaedin and LHS 3505, during which I was interdicted three times.

The first was a short affair against an unshielded Sidewinder piloted by a Mostly Harmless rated pirate called Nairda Yelsorric, which netted me 2000CR.

The second was a bit more challenging for me, with a Master-rated Cobra pilot reducing my hull to 63%. I was clearly no match for this attacker, so I retracted my lasers and charged up my FSD to escape.

The third interdiction was also against a Cobra, though this time the pilot was a Novice named Omar Googleme. I won this one fairly easily, which was fortunate for my frazzled nerves.

Shortly after winning the third battle I sent a hail to Rudolphus. My curiosity about the mysterious cargo I had delivered to Phra Mool for him needed to be satisfied.
