12th - 18th October, 3301 (Part Two) Sam and Nath's visit to the Orb Theatre had coincided with a Federation Security Forces swoop to bust a money laundering scheme. Sam had been briefed on the operation by one of Admiral Remi's aides, and told me that it involved one of the cast of 'The Importance Of Being Earnest'. The swoop had taken place during the interview with Cheryl Maughan-Pike, with the commotion in the corridor outside her dressing room being clearly audible over Nath's recording device. Cheryl Maughan-Pike had mistaken the commotion for autograph hunters, and was evidently disappointed when Sam told her it wasn't.
On the 18th of October, a k-cast recorded message came to me from Ellie Coolen, one of Marcus Trelawney's crewmembers. Marcus had just acquired a Federal Dropship, and had asked Ellie to update all his friends about it.
"I couldn't actually find many friends in his contact file," she said. "I think Marcus is quite picky about who he calls friend. It doesn't surprise me you're there, however. He has spoken of you many times and I'm sure he must think very highly of you."
Marcus had chosen to call his new ship Thunderchild, which Ellie said was an obscure reference to some ancient classic literature.
Later, MK Potter called to ask if there had been any progress in the search for Esmerelda Erskinne. I told him that, from what Rudolphus had said, it was likely that Esmi was still somewhere in Federal space.
I spent much of the day poring over database listings of theatre employees in Arcturus and Wyrd. My efforts were rewarded when I eventually found the name Alvin Salmon listed as stage doorman at the Walcott Theatre in Wander City, on the planet Way, situated in the Wyrd system.
