Hello, Miss. Yeah, I'm Alvin Salmon. They say you got a parcel for me. You haven't? Okay, sweetcheeks, then tell me who you really are. Nathalie Hudson? No relation to the President, are you? Hey, is that a stun pistol?

You want some answers, you say? What sort of answers? 'Star's End'? That was a holosoap, wasn't it? I never watched it. What was I doing in 3272? Now, let's see... I was working as a bodyguard in 3272.

Er, yeah, as a matter of fact one of the jobs was a protection for a visit to a holostudio. I remember that, because I got to meet Marcia Bannerman. I always liked her. Who was I protecting? Aw, come on! The identity of the client that night was never released to the press. I'm sworn to secrecy about who it was.

What? How the hell do you know it was Harold Duval? OK, OK, I get it! You're the one asking the questions. Just lower the gun and I'll tell you anything you want to know. Yes, I was around the studios. It was Marcia Bannerman's chat show, 'Like It Is'.

Hold on, here's someone else at the door... COME IN!

Who are you? Sam Hodkin? Oh, you're with her? Well, ain't that just dandy. Say, you ain't gonna pull a gun on me too, are you? No? Glad to hear it. My nerves ain't what they were.

You want me to recap? OK. I was one of Harold Duval's bodyguards in 3272. There was a gig at a holostudio for a chat show. Duval went there on an incognito visit because he'd heard there was a couple of 'Star's End' actresses appearing on Marcia Bannerman's chat show. They were Rebekka Thorne and Cheryl Maughan-Pike. Yeah, I sure do got a good memory for names! Duval said he wanted to meet them in their dressing rooms for a private chat. He was quite a big fan, apparently. Go figure.

Yeah, Duval was with Rebekka Thorne for about two hours. No, I didn't hear a thing. Why? Because I wasn't the one standing guard outside the dressing room, that's why. I was doing perimeter patrol.

The other bodyguard? That would be a guy called Harvard. Edward Harvard. He always used to go by Ted. Yeah, he would have been standing outside the dressing room the whole time. I don't know if he heard anything. He never told me. You'll have to ask him yourselves.

Where's Harvard now? Well, last I heard he was propping up the bar somewhere in the Koyans system, drinking himself to death. Koyans? It's on the far side of the Empire, maybe 200 light years from here. I'm pretty sure he's still there.

Now, Is that all? It's just that I have things to do, so if you'll excuse me.
Do you like it?
