My venture continues. I have traveled far and wide today, sourcing materials needed to bring back to Felicity for my module upgrades. It's been slow but I'm making progress nonetheless. So far I've collected quite a few things, mostly from the remains of destroyed ships. I found that most war-torn areas within the black seem to be a hotbed for scavenging various materials. I've come to learn that sometimes it's best to let others do the heavy work for you.

I made my way to a system known to be in the mids of a civil war. I'm not completely sure what they're fighting for but that's the least of my concerns. I'm not much for politics and I've yet to look into the current events and relationships between the various factions. I don't see myself getting involved in the political dynamics of the black any time soon. I'm quite content being oblivious to such things for now. I just need to focus on getting my ships upgraded.

I've resorted to watching distant battles play out, only to swoop in and collect any materials I can get my limpets on when the action comes to an end. It's hard to watch the warring parties blow up each other. However, it's not my place to judge nor interfere. I do however do my best to stick around after I salvage what I can, to keep an eye on the escape pods drifting around. Just to make sure someone picks them up. I don't think I could just leave them there, not knowing if they would be picked up or left floating until the people inside expire. It's just not in my nature.

At this point, I think I've collected enough manufactured materials to trade for the ones I need. I've yet to get any raw materials though. I've installed a planetary vehicle bay on my ship and stocked it up with an SRV. All I need to do now is look for a planet or moon that has a good amount of the raw materials I need. It's a good thing I got a detailed surface scanner when I first bought my ship. No doubt, It's going to come in handy.

I'm not the best at keeping my focus so I've written down a to-do list of things to acquire and separated them into three categories, manufactured materials, raw materials, and encoded data. I can cross manufactured materials off my list. As for what to get next, I'll go for the raw materials. I've yet to use an SRV before but I hear it's quite essential for gathering the materials I need. Trial by fire, I guess. I'll probably get the hang of it after driving it around for a bit. Can't be that hard right?

I'm starting to enjoy being out here. Gathering the materials I need can feel like a chore but the scenery makes up for it. I've come across some very beautiful stars and planets along my journey, some more beautiful than others. I make it a point to stop by settlements and stations when I find a populated system, mostly on the lookout for a good watering hole. I do enjoy myself a drink, more than I'd like to admit. Plus, you never know who you'll run into. I'm always looking to make new acquaintances. More often than not, I find that bars are great if you're looking to meet new people. With new people come new information and information tends to be helpful when you're as clueless as I am.

I've got some time left before Mr.X takes his students out to Guardian space. I just hope I can get everything I need and my ships upgraded in time to join them. I'd hate to miss out on such a great opportunity. Such an offer does not come by often. Anyway, I've decided to stop at LHS 1552 and should probably get some rest for now. The next few days are going to be long and tedious, I'll need all the rest I can get if I'm going to remain focused on gathering materials.
