Good grief, there's going to be a lot of information in this log. Oh well, Where to start? I've said my farewells to Felicity for now. She's been very helpful and I've learned more than I could have ever imagined. I now have a grade-five FSD module. I offered to pay her for her help but she humbly turned my payment down, she told me that my thirst for knowledge and my work in getting the components to upgrade the modules were more than enough for her to feel gratified. I won't forget her kindness and will return to her in the future. There's no doubt about it.
So, moving on. I've gotten a few more messages from a few more renowned engineers offering to aid me with module upgrades. The one I'll visit next would likely be Mr.McQuinn. I also hear he goes by the nickname The Blaster. He supposedly specializes in multi-cannons and railguns. I like the idea of beefing up my multi-cannons, I use them quite a lot and they've served well as my main tools of offense on my ship thus far. Upgrading them for more efficiency in terms of damage output and speed would be a great help. Before I can focus on upgrading my ship further though, I've got to prepare myself to face the Thargoids.
In just fourteen hours from the time I am writing this log, my mentor who've I've been referring to as Mr.X will be taking my fellow students and me out to the Pleiades to hunt Thargoids. He's arranged for us to meet up with a professional Xeno hunter. I have to admit, the thought of coming face to face with a Thargoid sends a little more than just a chill down my spine. I've heard some nasty stuff about them. For now, Mr.X has sent me a list of modules that I need to outfit on my ship to be able to survive a Thargoid encounter. I've been working on switching out the modules I have for the ones listed and I think I'm ready for the field trip into Thargoid territory.
I guess I should start addressing Mr.X by his real name. He goes by the name Zedakiah, Zed for short. I'm a little clueless about how things work in the black and it's been a real learning curve. I felt so lost when I left home and graduated from the academy. I would not say that I've gotten used to my space legs yet but they're developing nonetheless. Zed has been somewhat of a guiding light in the darkness. I've learned a great deal from him in the past few weeks. I'm very fortunate to have been picked by him to be a student.
When I first met Zed, he came across as quite the shady figure. but after spending some time with him, I've come to realize how compassionate he can be. He's very understanding and seems to have the drive to help those in need. Still, I don't know much about him yet. Though from what I've experienced so far, he seems trustworthy and I look forward to learning everything he has to offer. The knowledge he has given me has done more than making my time out here in the black a little easier. I'll go as far as to say that he's the reason I've managed to stay alive this long and am motivated to thrive.
Alright. Well, that's all I can really say about Zed for now. That said and done, I'll have to make my way to the rendezvous point. We've all agreed to meet up at the Copernicus Observatory in the Asterope system. According to my navigation panel, It'll be twenty-two jumps from where I currently am. I should get a head start if I'm going to make it in time. I have a few modules that I can't bring along and they'll have to be shipped over to the Asterope system. I assume it'll take quite a while for the modules to be shipped over once I get to the Copernicus Observatory. It's going to be a long trip, but one that's worth the effort. I really hope I survive long enough to write another log entry. We'll see how It goes. I'll probably document my experiences with the Thargoids if I do.
End of Log.
