New Licensing

I decided to apply for the Odyssey EVA license the other day. To my surprise I was quickly accepted and allocated a new equipment set. I guess they are in desperate need of qualified mercenaries. I was notified that my systems software was able to be updated while on the go so I started the process while finishing up my last run via remote data transfer. It finished about the time I made port to collect my new shipboard hardware and firmware upgrades. I have to say that from the stories I had heard I was half expecting my ship to just shutdown with no signs of life and I'd have to rewire the whole thing just to limp to port. Thankfully, it installed without a hitch.
Once I hit port, I successfully got my ship outfitted with the new Odyssey class hardware and firmware overhaul and was sent out for basic EVA training. I should be fitted for my suit and issued the basic personal equipment package in the next few days. After training I discovered I'll have to reprogram my PDA as my current configuration is only useful on board a ship or SRV. The first time I went to link up to a terminal I discovered my interface settings were largely incompatible with the facilities terminals. My TO luckily was patient with me getting it reconfigured. I was sure I was going to get tossed right then and there. But my training is complete and my ship ready to go. Once I receive my new suit and equipment I'll be able to set out again.
Although I'm sure I'll spend hours reconfiguring all of the settings on my PDA so I don't have a blunder like that in the field again.
