The Return

The last thing I remember was jumping into another system. I had been exploring ancient worlds, looking for the last traces of The Shadows... I thought I had found something. I think it was a temple, or something like it. Reminiscent of Guardian tech, but somehow different. Darker. Like it absorbed light. I can't even remember what system I was headed into, or exactly why. Just that I... Needed... To see it?...I awoke in a cryo rejuvenation bed. The nurse told me I'd been out for a long while. She explained that even the Rimlok was about burnt out, and I was lucky to be alive. The Rescue Rangers pulled me from Synuefe NF-S b51-1. I have no recollection of being there, or even that side of the bubble for that matter. She'dre was fragged. Just space debris now. Floating alone in the dark. I'll have to rebuild her one day. The insurance is replacing the "parts" and even getting the mass engineering done for me. But it's not her. I'll leave the husk they give me in a yard somewhere until I get a chance to rebuild her. Giver her a soul again... According to the nurse I've been out for over two weeks with what the Rimlok report turned over. Some incident triggered the emergency protocols of the suit on 10-03, 18 days ago. No suit recording and no black box recovered.
I left the rejuvenation clinic having been mostly stitched back together. My HMI was still acting up, but I was told it would quiet down after some of my other parts healed a little more. Human Machine Interfaces are an amazing tool, but they don't take it too well when the squishy parts they are connected to go and... get all messed up. The bio-mechanical interface will eventually recalibrate to what it has to work with now. At least I feel whole. No new parts I wasn't asking for. The doctor wanted me to stay another few days for "monitoring". But when I finally came to, I also had a message from Beebbs.
Find Me...
Great... Ya'know, this would be a lot easier if you told me where you were. I thought to myself as I made my way to the docking bay. Or maybe, if this HMI wasn't causing an electrical pounding in my head akin to some over amped thrash band raging out against something or other, and just as pointless. Maybe I ought to sit tight for a little and heal... I said as I pulled the throttle and retracted my landing gear.
