March 19 3309, Out in the Black of the Outter Orion SpurBeen a while that I used my logbook. Well, been laying low with all the things happening out there. First getting fuel to get back after that last spurt of building the Colonia Bridge. I must admit, I really enjoyed that. The aftermath was less fun. Had me stranded for months out in Colonia. Actually my own fault for not bringing enough fuel for my carrier to jump back. Foolish mistake, but you never stop to learn.
Finally back in the Bubble? I hear all that shit about this Salvation guy having figured out how to defeat the Thargoids. I was already at that time thinking this to be a foolish idea. The Thargoids have been fighting the Guardians and they survived. Why did this idot think he could beat them when the Guardians clearl didn't. Typical human hubris comming out again. 'Humans are sooo much better than all those idots that came before us!' Right... that's why we never have been able to leave such trivialities as war, crime and strife behind us. I kept myself out of all that hassle, both in Xeno hunting and delivering parts for the great weapon.
Still, I was willing to have a look at what would happen. Sometimes they /do/ surprise you and truly have it right. Well, the effect was as was to be expected. Instead of closing the conflict they predictably shot it into a new heated phase. The Thargoids, expectably, not happy with what happened. And they picked up the big guns. Now, I am not claiming that we might not have ended seeing those anyway sooner or later, but it clearly got into the sooner with that.
Well, I tried myself in helping people that got into trouble with all the shit happening. But truth be told... I am not a combat pilot. After taking some considerable losses I decided to cut my ties in the Bubble for the time being and doing the other thing I good at, beside trading, namely exploration.
With the Carrier that has gotten to be much easier, so now I am hanging out in the Outter Orion Spur and chart out new unknown systems, most of whom actually seem to be totally uncharted so far. Let those hotheads in the Bubble fight it out and offer those who are fed up with the fighting a way out by charting out systems that could be colonised, if the need existed.
Enough of my ramblings for today.
