Another Waypoint Reached

Captain's Log, date... lord, is it really that? Date 8-31-3307.Apparently, it's been a little over two weeks, and I've completed the second leg of my long journey to Colonia. At this point, I've put near 1800 jumps behind me, and I'm still nowhere near the finish line.
Admittedly, some of those jumps were two detours I took. The first was to see if I could find any undiscovered black holes. Dangerous, sure, but nothing the SS Inquirer can't handle. She's taken her share of bumps, bruises, and overheating, and she was able to handle the pull of Sagittarius A*. These regular black holes are nothin' compared to that. I was successful in my mission, finding a few unclaimed ones about 1000Ly above the Galactic Plane. Pretty cool stuff. I'll have to come out here at some point in the future, maybe poke around a bit more.
Anyway, my second detour was back to a DSSA Carrier. Ah, which one was it... Let me dig through my ship logs, they'll tell me.
...
Wait... Logs are telling me I did not do that. So where the hell... Ah! The Blood Nebula! That's where my second detour was. I guess the space madness is kicking in, all these jumps are blending together, and I'm forgetting which legs of my journey things even happened on. Bad sign, considering I've still got around 9500Ly to go. But anyway, the nebula. Got some good photos of it, but nebulas aren't really my thing. Sure, they look pretty, but I keep finding that other explorers have long since visited and mapped out the stars around them. It's not as exciting if you aren't the first to get there, not for me at least. Narcissism? Maybe. But after all, I'm here for the unknown.
Speaking of exploration and mapping, I've got my squadron to thank for keeping me sane during this journey. The Stellar Cartographer's Guild. They're great people, and these long days and weeks out in The Black would be a whole lot less bearable without a team of like-minded explorers to chat it up and share discoveries with. If you're reading this log, and you like exploring, I'd recommended seeking them out. And if you're from the guild and reading this log, hi there!
I can't say there's been a whole lot of substance in this log, but it is what it is I guess. I've got another 750 jumps ahead of me for this third leg, and who knows what I'll find out there. I'll upload a pretty drone photo to this log, and then get back to it. Sadly, my ship isn't gonna pilot itself - not between systems at least - so I better keep up the pace if I want to get to Colonia before 3308. And even then... it still might take that long. Who knows?
Until the next waypoint.
