A Minor Detour

I find myself back in the bubble.

Not because I decided to abandon my journey, no. I was listening to the Galnet during some routine scans when I heard about the Saud Kruger exploration campaign. I knew I had a handful of Earthlike worlds stashed in my ship computer, so I figured "why the hell not?" rerouted myself to the bubble and high-tailed it over there.

It was many hours of jumping, and it really let the Inquirer stretch her legs on jump range. It's been a long time since I've since the next system was any farther than 2 or 3 lightyears away, so this was a nice change of pace. It took about a day and a half, but I made it back to civilization and docked at Youll Port. As usual, it took quite a while to upload all the data to Universal Cartographics, with quite a few system hiccups in between, but I managed. And it seems Saud Kruger is being extra generous with their payouts, because I was getting... a lot more than advertised for my data.

In short, I can afford a Fleet Carrier now.

That's something for a different day, however. While it's nice to be so flush with funds, I don't really need to use it right now. All I'm focused on is gathering data on more Earthlikes so I can help the company reach its goal. Maybe I'll get something out of it, who knows. I admit I don't own a single Saud Kruger ship. I was never one to carry passengers around for more than a few jumps, and a Python was more than suitable for that task. But it might be nice to get an exclusive paint job or whatnot for one. We'll see how it goes.

After they're done with that, it's straight back into The Black for me. I'm still nowhere close to finished with my journey from Sag A* to Colonia, and as nice as being back amongst the populace is, that's a trip I fully intend to finish.

I suppose I'll upload my next log before I head back out. Until next time.
